1. De La Salle
2. Heritage
3. Antioch
4. Deer Valley
5. Pittsburg
6. Clayton Valley
7. Ygnacio Valley
8. Liberty
9. Freedom

*the 2 spot should be interesting to see who gets it because antioch, deer valley, and heritage are all capable of getting it. Pittsburg could be a sleeper if they are able to keep all their players for a whole season.

What about MVP and all-league predictions? Who are some of the top players in this league?

Wrong League!

These teams are in the BVAL.

The EBAL has Monte Vista, Foothill, SRV, etc. Any thoughts on this league? Usually Monte Vista, Foothill and SRV are in the top 3.

I think Monte Vista is the team to beat this year. A returning first team all league player (Fenley) and two second team players (Barbour & McAllister) would make them a contender. Then they added Brewster to the backcourt and they have both Zack Ertz and Jeff Allen who will share time on the wings. Clearly the best starting 5 and probably three subs who would start on most other teams. Foothill, Amador and Cal will fight it out for 2/3/4.

Top Players:
Monte Vista - Fenley 6'7" 4/5 first team A.L. last year (poss MVP) - will control the inside and defends anybody; Brian Barbour 5'11' 2 guard 2nd team A.L. last year - can knock em down from anywhere; Taylor Brewster 5'11" 2 guard came over from DLS - penetrates and controls tempo; Drew McAllister 6'2" wing 2nd team A.L. last year (chance he won't play with a USC football scholarship in his back pocket).
Foothill - Scot Clark 6'1" 2 - guard solid all around game, good shooter; Nnamdi Elendu 6'6" center very athletic and can defend but lacks finese on offense
Amadore Valley - Kevin Laue 6'10" C, shot blocker and great defender Has some offensive limitations as his left arm ends at the elbow (but one of the most inspirational kids you will ever watch play!); Mike Vanderhorst 6'5" wing who is a streaky shooter.
Cal - David Gory 6'5" 4/5 can hit the three and post up. Out with a football injury (knee) unknown when he will return; Sean Downs, 6'4" wing, plays tough and has some skills - needs to step up
SRV - Dan Davies 2 gaurd 2nd Team A.L. last year. Great shooter decent ball handler good team leader; Bredan Thomas 6'3" wing plays much taller, very athletic but sometimes plays out of control. Could be a force if he gets it all together.

What is the scoop on Chris McNealy from SRV? I hear he is legit as a sophmore. Will he be the face of this league over the next couple of years?

Monte Vista should be the favorite, but they are very beatable. If you shut down the post game of Fenley, and the guards are not hot from the outside, they can be beaten. We'll see who can manage to create this situation soon, league starts next week.
