Score: California 72 - San Ramon Valley 70
Location: San Ramon
Attended the Cal v SRV JV and Varsity games on Friday and both games were worth the price of admission. The JV game ended with a Cal player hitting 2 free throws to put them up with seconds remaining. SRV came down but did not get the shot off in time. This sent the early arrivers on the Cal side onto the floor.
The varsity game ended in the exact same fashion. A Cal player was on the line and hit two clutch free throws with 9 seconds left. On the inbounds SRV dribbled down but missed a desperation shot to end the game.
Look forward to watching the rematch at SRV.
The big kids for Cal played well along with their guard Witzig. Davies and Jordan provided the bulk of the scoring for SRV. The sophmore for SRV, Christopher McNealy, will be a good one to watch in years to come. He definitely needs to bulk up in order to be succesful in this league, but his quickness on both ends of the floor along with his court savy gets him by now. Have to give him credit, he took some big shots near the end of the game that he missed, but took guts to take as a sophmore.
