from what i am hearing they look like the favorite to win this league (correct me if i'm wrong), they still have fenley and barbour and others who were on that championship team. the new guard from dls is supposed to be pretty good and then some players from their jv should move up as well, but this is a tough league and great competition so you never know.

I agree, they should be the favorite although AV, Foothill and Cal will all be strong. The new guard is Taylor Brewster and he is all-league potential. Zach Ertz busted his wrist up pretty badly playing football but hopefully will be back for the stretch run. But with McAllister and Jeff Allen along with Fenley, Barbour and Brewster, MV clearly is set up nicely for another run.

What is Cal Hi's team going to be like......they graduated almost everybody but Downes and Gory and Gory I hear is out for the yr.....who do they have that will allow them to contend with the big boys of the EBAL??

Monte Vista lost three seniors but only one was an impact player, Ryan Whalen. They get back first team all league player Cam Fenley in the post and second team all leaguer Brian Barbour at the point. the replace Whalen with all league potential in a kid named Brewster who transfered from DLS. Drew McAllister comes back at one wing and third year varsisty player Jeff Allen steps in at the other wing. The best starting five in the EBAL. They also have Zack Ertz back from injury in late December and strong bench in Justin Sra (6'4" wing) and two guard/wing combos (Miracle & Tyrell - sorry, don't know their last names). This group could go undefeated through the EBAL.

Gory is out, Witzig plays a nice 2 guard, Downs is a big man with limited offensive game. I understand Goutama's little brother will take over at the point. They will play hard as they always do, their home gym will allow them to steal a game or two and they should finish league at around 8-4.

Cal is so well coached but I just don't see the fire power there.....I see them getting swept by AV and MV and hoping for splits with SRV and FH 6-6 or 5-7 in league....do u agree??

The intangible about Cal is that damn gym of theirs. They steal 2 wins a year just because of the unfair environment created by that facility. If you have not been there, the Cal rooting section is right on the court and the visitors are on the upper level. It creates a completely lopsided home court advantage and they do steal a win or two every year becuase of it. As a result, I could see them splitting with FH & AV and I think they can take two from SRV. I think MV just has too much for them.

PG Matt Witzig ,very good shooter, and if coach Wilson makes up with Andrew Hunting,he is a very good player , Gory might make it back for league, they could be the sleeper team
